As I Lie Awake at Night

As I lie awake at night
Staring at the stars so bright
My vision begins to blur
And my mind wanders to her
Hair bright as a star in the sky
And two endless pools for eyes
Lips as soft as the petals of a desert rose
At which a touch could cure all woes
As I lie awake at night
Staring at the stars so bright
My vision begins to blur
And my mind wanders to her
With skin so fair
I'm compelled to caress with care
From her lip to abdomen my lips will roam
Till her eyes direct me back home
Our bodies entangle in poetic death
Passion builds with every breath
And as our commitment heightens
Our embrace tightens
Juxtapose as yin and yang
Wanting to finish with a bang
Just as we hit our crescendo
I'm startled by a BANG at my window
Now as I lie awake at night
Staring at the stars so bright
My vision begins to blur
As I wish to be with her
